Both the fishing and the logging industry in the US have declined in recent years. Both of these industries were the major commercial draw-card for people living in Fort Bragg. Today, things have changed a little and tourism is the major draw card, this town is close to Mendocino, the largest commercial center on this part of the Pacific coast. Fort Bragg hotels are popular as they are more reasonably priced, and it is a quaint town to visit.

The North Coast Brewing Company is one of the liveliest venues in Fort Bragg. The locals and visitors alike enjoy this popular hot spot. It was voted one of the best 10 breweries in the world in 1998, so is worth a special visit.
